The Educational Development & Support Centre (EDSC) offers development and support services to students and staff. Student services are provided by specialist units that work closely together. Specific services for staff are offered by the Teaching and Learning Unit and the Counselling Service; all EDSC units offer consultancy to staff who work closely with students in a teaching or support role.

AccessAbility Centre
The Centre offers academic and practical support to students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and those with physical or mental health difficulties, deafness or visual impairment.

Careers Service
The Service provides a wide range of career-related resources and consultancy for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and contract research staff. It has links with both national and local employers.

Counselling Service
The Service offers a confidential counselling service to university staff and students delivered by qualified professional staff. The Service also provides consultancy to staff who are concerned about their students.

Hugh Binnie Sick Bay
The Sick Bay offers 24 hour nursing care and a place to rest and recover throughout University term time. Students can also access the service as day patients.

Student Learning Centre
The SLC provides practical advice and information to all students on any aspect of study via workshops, individual consultations and a wide range of free study leaflets.

Teaching and Learning Unit
The TLU provides resources, consultancy and workshops for staff seeking to develop and enhance their teaching. It plays a major role in supporting the implementation of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy.

Welfare Service
The Welfare Service provides practical advice to all students on a wide range of issues including finance, hardship loans and grants, immigration, visa renewal, accommodation and childcare.
