The Centre for American Studies is based at the heart of the Faculty of Arts and draws from the teaching expertise of staff in the Schools of Historical Studies and English, and the Departments of History of Art and Film and Politics. With a combined intake of around 70 students per year for single and joint honours, and voted in the "Top 2" by The Times, The Guardian and The Independent in 2008, the Centre for American Studies at Leicester is firmly established as one of the UK's most important providers of American Studies degrees.
We offer both three-year (T700) and four-year degrees (T701) in American Studies, as well as Joint Degrees in English and American Studies (QT37) and History and American Studies (VT17) allowing you to choose whether to complete your full degree here or spend the third year abroad at an American University, returning to Leicester in your final year.
