Head of Group: Professor DH Evans Academic Members: Professor RB Panerai, Dr MA Horsfield, Dr K Martin. The group has a wide range of interests in applications of physical science to cardiovascular diseases. Much of the group's work is carried out in conjunction with other groups within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, and with researchers from other centres both in Britain and overseas. The main themes being pursued are: Vascular measurement technology (including Doppler ultrasound and continuous blood pressure measurement); cardiovascular monitoring (including embolus detection; real-time data acquisition and dynamic analysis of arterial wall motion); blood flow and perfusion measurements in the heart and brain; blood flow autoregulation and its impairment in cardiovascular disease. |
