Biobator Staff
Chris Jones (Biobator Manager)
I joined the University in the Spring of 2006 after 15 years in Industry managing Bioscience and Business Development projects and I currently manage the Biobator. I am responsible for setting the strategy for the program, engaging key stakeholders in the University, industry and the region and delivering against key objectives. My vision is to develop a thriving entrepreneurial culture, support academics achieve their research and commercial aspirations and make Leicester the centre of bioscience innovation in the region and beyond.
Roshna Mistry (Biobator Outreach Officer)
I started working at the University in April 2008 as the Biobator Outreach Officer. My role involves working with researchers from the bioscience/biomedical research base, in the identification and commercial development of ideas and research liaisons with commercial potential. My role also involves working with the business community to help initiate and support new collaborations and strategic relationships and to identify members of the business community that may be interested in exploiting the University's knowledge base. The main objectives of my role are to stimulate and facilitate more interest from industry in University innovations and research, and to enhance the research commercialisation activity of the University. Prior to starting at the University, I completed my PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Sheffield, after which I have undertaken postdoctoral roles in cancer biology within academia and a university spin-out.
