Funding

We are non-profit making University facilities offering a range of professional services at very competitive prices. Less than a quarter of our collective budget is given from central funds. The income we earn from internal and external customers is used entirely to provide new technology, personnel and services.

Charge Codes

It is essential that you quote an appropriate financial code when ordering chargeable work. Some departments may also like to arrange to have authorising signatures.

Billing

Once a month, your department will be sent copies of relevant worksheets and a summary of all transactions that month.

Private work

Private jobs can be undertaken in some circumstances but University work must take priority. Please be aware VAT will either be charged at the standard or zero rate of VAT dependent on the nature of the work being undertaken.

Data protection and copyright

We operate within the guidelines of the University Data Protection Policy and all work undertaken by any of the AVS Sections has to comply with the 1988 Copyright Act. It is the responsibility of our customers to ensure compliance in these areas when supplying materials for us to process. However, we reserve the right to refuse to handle jobs which we feel may infringe the law or University policy.
