Multimedia Service

We’re a small team, producing video, audio, web and multimedia materials for teaching, promotion and research. We’re equipped to broadcast standards and we have extensive experience in all types of production using a range of media.

In video and audio we provide a complete set of services from copying, digitising and simple editing to full production facilities. In addition to our technical and creative services, we also teach undergraduate modules in video production and we contribute to regular staff and student media training events. We’re happy to provide advice and help in all aspects of recording and production – contact us for advice on buying and using recording equipment, interviewing and performance, recording and editing techniques.

We operate a sliding scale of charges, depending on the application, with work for teaching and University promotion at the lower end and commercial work charged at commercial rates.

Simple copying work can be left with the AVS bookings desk in the Medical Sciences Building – please leave clear instructions and a University charge code.

For productions, we will work in collaboration with you to develop your ideas into a script ready for recording. During filming, depending on the nature of the job, we can provide all the technical and creative direction, or we can work in collaboration with you. We will then produce a rough cut for your approval before producing a final master tape and copies. For advice on production work contact Jon Shears [email protected], extension 2914.

Our web designers work together with IT Services technical teams to provide web solutions for University academic departments and support services.

Opening Hours:
Drop-off and collection of copying work, 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.30 – 4.00pm Friday. For other work, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
