More than 30 subject and open scholarships available

We're still glowing from being named University of the Year 2008/9. And as part of our celebrations we are launching a major investment to attract and develop the next generation of academic and research stars. Our special “University of the Year” scholarship package scheme - a series of open and subject specific Research Scholarships available to students from the EU and UK - is designed to celebrate our award. It will create a range of opportunities for funded PhD study.

Up to 15 Open Scholarships are available across the science, arts, social sciences, law, medicine and the biological sciences.

Our 23 Subject Scholarships are available in Geography, Physics and Astronomy, Criminology, Health Sciences, Engineering, Politics, Sociology, Law, Archaeology & Ancient History, Economics and across the Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology.

Those joining us through an Open Scholarship will benefit from a package worth over £17,000 each year including a stipend, fee waiver and research training support grant.

Those joining us through a Subject Scholarship can benefit from a package of fee waiver, full or partial stipend worth up to £17,000 each year depending upon the subject area. Please consult the details for exact amounts.

If you are one of the leading researchers of tomorrow we are keen to hear from you today.
