The University of Leicester is an international centre of learning with a worldwide reputation. It is a traditional British university founded in 1921 offering undergraduate degrees, masters courses and research programmes. Many postgraduate courses are available by distance learning.

Citizens of over eighty countries are represented on our campus. Each year, there are more than 1500 students from outside the United Kingdom studying the full range of subjects and degrees courses available.

The International Office can provide all the information you need about applying for a course at the University of Leicester as well as advice on scholarships, English Language programmes and acceptability of international qualifications.

Our new International Study Centre offers EU and international students a direct path to an undergraduate degree at Leicester. The International Foundation Year has two points of entry - September and January.

Representatives of the University visit many different countries each year to advise prospective students by attending Education Fairs, visiting schools and colleges or giving presentations.

The University has a Students' Union Officer with responsibility for international students, and our International Students' Advisers offer support to international students on issues such as visas, employment, finance and cultural adjustment.

We hope you will enjoy your visit to our site. If you cannot find the answers to your questions or need more information please do not hesitate to contact the International Office.
