Careers Service Resources

One of the original aims of the project was to work with the University’s Careers Service to explore the further development of strategies to support the transition to work or further study for graduates with mental health difficulties. This collaboration led to the production of the resources which are detailed below and which other Careers Services may find of use.

Further Resources:

  • Results relating to careers issues from the Student Psychological Health Project undergraduate surveys conducted in 1998 and 2001 and results from a small postal survey of graduates with mental health difficulties about their transition to work or further study conducted in 1999 >> click here (pdf format)
  • Sources of information and advice on careers and employment opportunities for students with mental health difficulties >> click here (pdf format)
  • Examples of case scenarios which have been used to train both internal and external Careers Service staff and which can be adapted for use in other services (the scenarios can be used independently or in conjunction with the other staff training resources available on this site) >> click here (pdf format)
