Welcome

The Department of Media and Communication is one of the longest established academic centres providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of media & communications.

Our BSc Communications Media and Society has been ranked joint top in the National Student Survey in 2005 and 2006, and we run a range of postgraduate courses — MA Mass Communications, MA Globalization and Communications, MSc Media and Communication Research. We also provide PhD and MPhil Mass Communications incorporating doctoral level tuition. In October 2007 we introduced 2 new postgraduate courses — MA New Media and Society, MA New Media Governance and Democracy.

We also run postgraduate courses which can be studied flexibly via supported distance learning — MA Mass Communications, and from 2007 MA New Media and Society, MA Mew Media Governance and Democracy and MA News and Public Relations.
