Institute of Lifelong Learning

Welcome to the Institute of Lifelong Learning

The Institute of Lifelong Learning encompasses a range of activities including adult learning, professional development, research, and social, cultural and artistic events, as well as the counselling and psychotherapy programme. LILL aims to work closely with partners in the region, including further education colleges, private companies, public-sector organisations and voluntary bodies, to meet their education and training needs and to disseminate research findings.

Whether you're looking to gain a qualification, progress in your career or simply pursue a particular interest, the Institute offers a wide-ranging programme of part-time degrees, diplomas and certificates from which you can choose to study in the daytime, evening or even by distance learning. Subject areas include humanities, environmental science, business & management and social sciences. In many cases financial assistance is available, from government schemes to bursary funds.

We have three teaching centres - Vaughan College and the Richard Attenborough Centre in Leicester, and the University of Leicester Northampton Centre.
