Welcome to the University of Leicester's Graduate
School
The University of Leicester is a leading provider of postgraduate
education in the UK.
- The quality of our teaching has been judged to be among the best
in the country by outside commentators. For example, the Financial
Times placed the University of Leicester at the top of its league in
taught postgraduate education in each of its three surveys since
2001; and the teaching in all our departments assessed by the UK's
Quality Assurance Agency since 1999 has been rated as excellent.
- Leicester appears at 151st in the world's top 200 universities'
list (joint 16th in the UK) and our research students have access to
leading academics working at the frontiers of their subjects.
- By choosing to study at Leicester, our postgraduate students
benefit from our strong track record and expertise in providing
excellent taught programmes and research opportunities.
The Graduate School provides the focus for this postgraduate
activity. It reflects the central place held by postgraduate education
in the University's mission.
- Approximately half of Leicester's students are postgraduates, so
our postgraduate students are not just a small group of students
that fit around large groups of undergraduates.
- Our postgraduates are central to what the University is and
stands for. Our Graduate School enables our postgraduate students to
be part of a large and energetic community of scholars.
