Ranked joint first with Oxford for overall student satisfaction among mainstream traditional pre-1992 universities. A resounding 96% of our students who took part in the recent 2008 National Student Survey declared that they are more than satisfied with the quality of our courses.

Our current successes include:         

  • Awarded a maximum teaching rating of 24/24 by the UK government's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).        
  • We are the only Economics Department in the UK with CFA accreditation (and currently one of only 10 CFA programme partners in the UK) .

World-Class Accreditation

The CFA - Chartered Financial Analyst Institute - accords the Department of Economics at the University of Leicester Partner status for MSc in Financial Economics. The Department has been recognized as a CFA Programme Partner Institution and is one of only seven elite departments in the UK to have gained Partner status for a course that is highly valued by employers.

Pre-Masters Diploma in Economics with English as a Foreign Language

Pre-Masters Diploma in Economics

These courses will join the Departments existing distinctive programmes of study.

The programmes renew the Department's commitment to teaching and research excellence in the fields of Business, Economics and Finance and to offer a broad range of relevant Masters programmes to students.
