...now the Centre for the Sociology of Sport

The Centre for Research into Sport and Society and the Sir Norman Chester Centre for Football Research have merged in the Sociology Department to form the new Centre for the Sociology of Sport. The new centre build's on the University's status as the UK's leading provider of postgraduate education in this area, promising to keep a strong central focus on football research, but continuing to develop its research and scholarship into a broader range of sports and a wider range of sociological issues.

The new web site for the Centre for the Sociology of Sport combines the resources previously available on the two centre web sites.
