Tackling the creation or ongoing maintenance of a Web site can be a real challenge. The online Web centre aims to provide core help to anyone who finds themselves in charge of Web pages at the University of Leicester. The information in this site should hopefully provide answers to specific queries but going beyond that it aims to put that help in the wider context of learning Web site creation as a skill. Skills take time and effort to develop and often have logical stages. The Web Centre site is organised to reflect these stages of development and it is our hope that people attempting sites for the first time will progress through these sections picking up useful information as they go. More advanced users should equally be able to dip in and access the information they need just as easily.
It may take a short while to orient to the new structure of the Web Centre so to speed up the process please have a look at the following page that outlines how to use the Web Centre and what information is available in each of the different sections. We have also provided a series of 'Hot Topic' links which are quick entry points to specific bits of commonly requested information. If you can't find something then try a Search or have a look at the Site Map.
The Web Centre site has been created by the Web Team at the Computer Centre to supplement their existing widespread Web support/development work. If you have a query relating to any aspect of Web site development at the University of Leicester then please contact the Web Team - [email protected]
